Day 1: an initial enquiry guide for an automotive workshop

On 27 September 2026 we organised this editorial guide to explain an automotive first contact. It is RelataLabs content work, not an audit of a workshop or evidence of a connected system. The goal is to gather enough context for a useful conversation.

01

Requested service

Start with the need the person recognises: maintenance, inspection, repair or another enquiry. Allow an open option when no category fits.

02

Vehicle

Ask for the minimum detail needed to place the work, such as vehicle type, make and model. Sensitive details and documents can wait for a secure conversation.

03

Reason

A short free-text field lets people explain the problem in their own words. Do not turn that description into an automated diagnosis or price.

04

Availability

Ask for an approximate time window to talk or inspect the vehicle. A preferred time is not a booked appointment.

05

Recorded decision

The guide ends in a request with a summary and human review. The workshop's response, a price and any appointment come later.

Example to adapt

Day-one template: ‘I need [service] for [vehicle]. The issue is [description]. I can talk [time window]. Please review my request.’ Do not insert a price or confirmed date into the summary.

Final check

Evidence for this work is this dated guide and its five decisions. Before adopting it for a real workshop, verify channels, process and response times with its team.
